Connect a domain without interrupting the store

Add the exact hostname

Use a hostname you control, such as esim.example.com, in Store settings > Domain. Copy the CNAME and any TXT values shown for that record; do not use an example token.

Check both statuses

Refresh the domain status in admin. Ownership and SSL have separate states. Do not make the hostname primary while it is pending, inactive or failed.

Switch and verify

Once hostname, certificate and DNS are active, mark it primary and test a public page over HTTPS. The old platform subdomain redirects public pages to the healthy primary domain.
